OpenFire client v0.51 released

I have decided to release the OpenFire test client, which I have been using to help figure out what the client API should look like. It's very minimalist, and doesn't come with much in the way of error reporting. When real XFire clients talk to you they will be repeatedly warned about high latency, most likely due to the fact that OpenFire does not support direct UDP messaging between clients yet.

Take it for what it is: a proof of concept demonstrating a cross-platform client to connect to the XFire network. It's hardly in a state to be used as your primary XFire client, nor was it ever intended to fufill this role.

I will most likely keep this client up to date as the API evolves, as it has proved to be a useful tool to date. Return to the site from time to time for updates.

You can download the client by clicking on this JNLP link. You will need a Java 6 Runtime installed.
